Recently, Amanda Rubalcado, BSN, SCRN, Stroke Educator at South Texas Health System McAllen, presented an in-depth session on stroke recognition, treatment and prevention to students participating in the Pathways for Advancing Careers and Education (PACE) Program through the @vida_careers at @stcjaguars. The PACE program helps low-income, unemployed and underemployed Rio Grande Valley residents gain the education and training needed to pursue high-demand, high-wage careers, including careers in healthcare. Understanding the warning signs of stroke and the importance of timely treatment can make the difference between life and death.
