Analysis: Fearless Seagulls rewarded for attacking approach
Brighton came into this match as the league's top scorers and did not disappoint with their attacking mindset. Diego Gomez on the wing did an excellent job of keeping Riccardo Calafiori quiet, while Charalampos Kostoulas caused problems for the Gunners backline throughout. Lack of cutting edge caused a defensive collapse
Chelsea signed a striker from Brighton for the second successive summer, bringing in Danny Welbeck to reunite him with Joao Pedro and provide support in attack. Welbeck, 35, was tidy in possession but, with little service, managed only 17 touches before being substituted in the 71st minute.
