Everton boss David Moyes says a teenage Wayne Rooney was "the last of the street footballers" in the English game. During Moyes' first spell in charge of the Toffees, he gave the striker his professional debut at just 16 years old. Kevin Campbell Tomasz Radzinski, quite a few others - Big Duncan [Ferguson] was still around and trying to get Wayne in the team wasn't easy, because they were senior players.
Vipotnik named in BBC's Championship team of season
Swansea City striker Zan Vipotnik has been included in BBC Sport's Championship team of the season. The Slovenian scored a total of 25 goals in his second season with Swansea - of which 23 goals were scored in 43 league games. Two former Swansea City players were also recognised after helping their respective clubs secure promotion to the Premier League.
