Frager shines in Nebraska men's basketball exhibition win over Kansas State
GRAND ISLAND — It may have been an exhibition game, but a lot of buzz surrounded Nebraska and Kansas State’s matchup at the BigIron Events Center in Grand Island, Nebraska, Monday night. The voice of Husker men’s basketball, Kent Pavelka, announced pregame that he will be retiring after this season, and a student from each school called the game together to support the Greg Sharpe Sports Broadcasting Scholarship Fund. After acknowledging Pavelka’s announcement and Sharpe’s legacy, Nebraska fans watched the Huskers win 88-84 against the Wildcats in a game that included 80 3-point attempts and four lead changes. Sophomore forward Braden Frager led the way with 28 points and scored eight in the final five minutes of the first half to secure a 5-point Nebraska lead heading into halftime.
